Argrove Counselling, previously known as Lilley Counselling, is located in a beautiful, tranquil setting.
The word Argrove is a combination of the words Arbor and Grove, combined to represent a sheltered place that promotes growth, wellness and stability.
Children and adults seeking counselling, often find us when they're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, uncertain about what to do or believing that life has just become too hard. The wonderful thing is that, despite the most difficult circumstances, we can learn how to cope, how to manage and how to be more resilient.
At Argrove Counselling we offer counselling and support according to your individual mental health needs. While we use evidenced based therapy such as Schema Therapy, CBT and EMDR, our starting point will always be you. Therapy will start with us finding a way to connect. We believe that having a good connection with you or your child is one of the most important aspects of therapy.
Argrove Counselling offers in person counselling and online or telehealth counselling.
We offer counselling and support to children, adolescents and adult facing a range of challenges including:
Traumatic or distressing events including PTSD or a history of childhood trauma
Alcohol and other drug dependency or misuse
Adjusting to significant changes or life events
Relationship conflict and stress
A little about me
Warm Experienced Professional
Hi, I'm Heather Lilley and I founded Argrove Counselling because I am passionate about helping adults and children live mentally and emotionally healthy lives. Having worked as a Counsellor and Social Worker for over 25 years, I believe in the potential of every person to heal, grow and develop a sense of ownership over the decisions in their lives. I have a particular interest in working with people who have experienced trauma or are living with anxiety.
I also work at a local University where I enjoy supervising and teaching Bachelor and Masters students who are just starting out in their journey as counsellors and psychotherapists.
For those of you who are interested, my qualifications include a Masters in Counselling (Murdoch University), a PGradDip Social Work (La Trobe University) and a Bachelor of Social Work (Curtin University).
I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers and a member of the EMDR Association of Australia.
