Counselling for Adults

Therapy with adults aims to develop healthy ways of managing and responding to challenges. 


This may involve learning alternative strategies to manage immediate concerns or exploring longer term issues in depth over a more extended period of time.


Reasons for seeking therapy may include

  • Anxiety

  • Traumatic  or distressing events, including PTSD or a history of childhood trauma 

  • Drug and Alcohol Dependency 

  • Phobias          

  • Depression

  • Relationship conflict and stress

  • Adjusting to significant life events and transitions​


Counselling approaches may include:

  • Schema Therapy, 

  • Trauma focussed therapies including Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR),

  • Mindfulness,

  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT),

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
