Mental Health Social Workers are university qualified with specific post graduate mental health training including:

A four year University degree with many Mental Health Social Workers also holding Masters level degrees.

Two years post graduate supervised practice in mental health

Accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers with ongoing training and professional development to maintain registration.
Mental Health Social Workers are able to offer Medicare rebates when clients are referred by their GP under a Mental Health Care Plan.
